Well, way to go, Dan Boren!

Cherokee County's rep is saying no to CAFTA.

Dan Boren also kicked some serious ass over Social Security and has done pretty well on some other issues, although he has done a thing or two I'm not too happy about.

I'll admit I know next to nothing about trade (thus am ignorant of CAFTA's implications), but it seems most politicians I agree with are against it and most (GOP) that I disagree with are for it. That tells me something right there.

And then there was that ad "CAFTA + NAFTA = SHAFTA" :)

Rob! I like your ew online magazine. I need to change my link name for you.

As for CAFTA, I was undecided about NAFTA. Now though? I am seriously opposed!

:) "Online Magazine" was only going to stay up for a day or three, but I think it has a nice ring to it (in a "Prince" sort of way)...

It does sound nice. Why was it going to stay up for obly a day or so? (I'm seriously nosy, in case you hadn't noticed :=D ).

It was a bit of a joke (started by a blog out there somewhere, I forget where), but a bit serious, as a counter to the FEC proposing to regulate blog contents (mainly of blogs that mix politics with fundraising). Not something that was well received by right or left bloggers...in fact, I think the "Online Magazine" thing was started by a righty. The logic being if the FEC can regulate speech on a blog but not in the "mainstream" media (i.e., magazines, newpapers), then simply don't be a blog anymore...be an "Online Magazine".

I did it at first as a joke, but liked the name so stuck with it :)

Ahaaaa! That makes sense. I followed that scuffle --- this is a nice way around it.
